Managing multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in hospitalised patients: a review of treatment outcomes

Abstract


Insufficient infrastructure to effectively treat and control the spread of tuberculosis (TB), especially in resource-poor countries, has resulted in multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) that is resistant to both isoniazid and rifampicin, two of the most powerful TB drugs available.
