Abstract


guidelines for infection control in South Africa and developing countries have been formulated to assist healthcare professionals to deal with five important challenges that face healthcare workers: antimicrobial resistance, nosocomial pneumonia, bloodstream infections caused by intravascular catheters, nosocomial urinary tract infections, and nosocomial intra-abdominal infactions.
